Yes, I always wanted a frame!

Edit: Seems we also got official minimal system requirements as well. In fact I'm surprised/amazed/sceptical they're very low requirements.

Nothing there that for me would warrant paying more than the price of a regular edition, ie glowy animation on emotes as in gw1!

Looks very interesting. I don't think Collector's Ed. will hold much interest for me, but Deluxe might, depending on what the price difference is.

Also, I'm glad the start date is Apr 10 and not Apr 1 :P

So +$20 gets you a miniature, a skill, and 3 very temporary items? Strange valuation...looks to mostly just be more ways to get a head start.

From the site, about the Deluxe version:

  • Guild Wars 2 game
  • Summon Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill
  • Rytlock Miniature
  • Golem Banker - "Your very own golem banker, at your command for 5 days! This mechanical man-servant will grant you access to your account storage from anywhere in the world"
  • Chalice of Glory - "Earn some extra Glory with this one-time use chalice. Use Glory to unlock rewards in PvP as well as compare your progress against other players."
  • Tome of Influence - "Give your guild a one-time boost of influence. Useful for unlocking guild vaults, emblems, and other items for your guild."

I didn't quite understand the five day thing. Will they refund 3 bucks into your bank account after this vanishes ? LOL

So golem and chalice are obviously cash shop items...

What I want to know is will the people preordering collectors have it shipped or have to pick it up retail? If so how will they have the client installed in order to enter their headstart period if the game doesn't ship?

If not does that imply they can download the client like the digital editions and recieve their box of real life shiniest in the mail at a later date?

Either way anet will make an up-front killing on this just to calm the nerves of the fanboys, collectors, and the people that weren't able to sign up for beta. Nice move. Kinda sad there is no gw1 CE shiny hands effect but it was nice while it (gw1) lasted

I preordered the CE of Guild Wars, and will do the same here. If I can't get in the beta, at least I'll get some early access to the game.

The pre-purchase gives you access to all the beta weekends.

It's possible broadband is only a requirement for the digital versions... 25GB disk space requirement means a fairly hefty download - very time consuming on slow connections, even with compression. Perhaps it will still be playable without broadband speeds, if you buy a boxed version.

Fingers crossed, I can get the 25GB no prob with external HD from a friends house or something, and get small updates from time to time, but if it just wont play due to the non-instanced nature of this game, that is gonna suck for a few of us.

I was able to play AB scaled games fine over dial up, and towns, like Kamadan, were semi-laggy, but not unbearable on events and all, very playable, so IDK, heres to hoping that it can limp by

The deluxe edition might be the most reasonable purchase here. It all depends on the worth of the cash shop items they are including. Shame to be missing out on the soundtrack going this route though.

Yeah, I clicked over to the Facebook page after the fact...

In any case, I'm curious what the select retailers will be and how this will affect people who have already pre-ordered.

25 GB of HD space is a big "Oh Shit" for me. Thats what, a week of constant downloading on my 2 mbps line? ;p Gonna suck during beta events

25GB, is a pretty big file. Nothing that I have to worry about, though I feel bad for people who are planning to play on just a regular set up pc.

On the subject of these pre-purchases, I'll definitely be going with the Digital Deluxe. I wish they would do a glowing hands thing for all pre-purchases though, that would be a pretty nice gift.

Actually though, I'm having a hard time imagining that the actual download will be 25 GB. More likely then not it will be heavily compressed. It must be lol? ;P Maybe I should grab some offline games to enjoy in the meantime xD
